Annual General Meeting (AGM): Wednesday 23rd September 2020

At 6:00pm on Wednesday 23rd September 2020, NHS Chorley and South Ribble CCG and NHS Greater Preston CCG held their first virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM).

As a result of the current coronavirus pandemic, the CCGs moved their 2019/20 AGM to an online format hosted via Microsoft Teams. It is also the first year that the two CCGs will host a joint AGM since the two Governing Bodies established a 'Committee in Common' in November 2019. Learn more about the Committee in Common here.

The evening celebrated the great work taking place across central Lancashire, explored the challenges we are facing and looked to how we are adapting to provide services in the face of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Dr Sumantra Mukerji, Chair and Clinical Leader for NHS Greater Preston CCG welcomed those in virtual attendance and described our CCGs, our local population and the services we provide with our partners to support them to stay well.

Dr Lindsey Dickinson, Chair and Clinical Leader for NHS Chorley and South Ribble CCG then shared our experiences of the pandemic and how we have adapted to continue commissioning services in the backdrop of such change. She extended our gratitude to our staff and our partners for their continued work.

CCG Chief Officer, Denis Gizzi, took the floor to describe our many achievements in 2019/20 including the development of Primary Care networks, our work with new services such as The Haven, and how we monitor patient safety, keeping you safe and involving you in our commissioning decisions.

We also heard from our Chief Finance Officer, Katherine Disley. Demand for resources has never been as high and by working closely with our partners across the area, Katherine explained, we were able to achieve our key financial targets.

We now look to the future of services in central Lancashire, hearing about the digital future of services and our plans for working with partners.
