As lockdown eases due to the continuing fall in coronavirus (COVID-19) infection rates local organisations in Lancashire and South Cumbria are reminding residents of the best ways to stay safe, reduce the risk of spreading the virus and save lives.
From 4 July, the new government guidelines will allow more businesses to open, two households to meet indoors, and overnight stays.

This weekend, as the country begins to open its pubs, café’s and restaurants again, health leaders across central Lancashire are urging residents to continue to follow social distancing guidelines.

Dr Lindsey Dickinson, Chair and Clinical Leader of Chorley and South Ribble CCG said: “We are hugely thankful for the support that the public has shown for the NHS over recent months and the sacrifices that have been made to enable us to make such positive steps towards controlling the Covid-19 virus, however if you are planning on going out this weekend please remember that risk still remains.

Anyone can get the virus and for many it can be fatal, so it is really important to always follow guidance to keep yourself your family and your friends safe.”
