Geoffrey O’Donoghue, Lay Member for Patient and Public Involvement
Since beginning his working life as a building site labourer and then a London Underground train driver before moving into teaching, Geoffrey has spent most of his working life in the field of social inclusion. He has worked in Local Government as an Education Officer moving to take up a Regional Director post in a national charity managing services for young people out of mainstream education.
His most recent work was with a Lancashire-based service offering information and advice to adults with low skill levels to help in finding learning and work opportunities.
Woking in senior roles including being the CEO of a regional Learndirect company, he has extensive experience of service design, strategic planning and the sound understanding of regeneration and the role of the community and voluntary sectors.
